Digital business transformation
The Future Industry Council has looked at the opportunities and challenges presented by the digitalization of industrial companies. Disruption, IoT, Industry 4.0 and digitalization are on everyone's lips, but reliable strategies for ensuring future viability have not yet been established. While a competitive edge could previously be achieved through the clear delineation of areas of responsibility and their tight organization, today it is the cross-industry networking of competencies that can lead to new degrees of freedom with non-linear effects.
The aim of this publication is to discuss the implications of software-induced business models and ecosystems for industrial organizations and their transformation. The central problems and solution approaches, best practices and recommendations for shaping the digital transformation have been summarized in a position paper.
